Biography
The TALOS lightning detection products provide alerts when lightning is up to 25 miles away allowing time to seek safety. Lightning can strike from 25 miles away, but thunder can only be heard from 10 miles away. Bright visual alerts indicate the distance of approaching or departing storms: Green: 25 miles, Blue: 16 miles, Red: 6 miles. Loud audible alerts also indicate the distance of lightning: 1 beep = 25 miles, 2 beeps = 16 miles or 3 beeps for 6 miles away.
